House 2.0 is a contemporary residence in a dense Hyderabad neighborhood, designed with minimal, fluid architecture that responds to urban constraints like limited space and views. Initially conceived as two linear blocks connected by a bridge, the design evolved into an organic curved form that creates intimate pockets and courtyards, enhancing spatial quality. Aligned along the north-south axis, the house maximizes natural light and ventilation. Parametric elements further refine its form and architectural expression, offering a thoughtful response to modern, work-from-home lifestyles.
Climate responsiveness played a crucial role in the design strategy. A double-height air pocket was introduced along the south-facing stairwell to reduce heat gain, while a swimming pool in the southeast corner helps cool the incoming summer winds. Material choices were guided by thermal performance and sustainability, laterite blocks for walls and lime plaster finishes inside and out help regulate temperature, while being cost-effective and locally sourced. Internally, the house features lime-finished walls, soft furnishings, folded MS staircases for transparency, sleek glazed openings for seamless indoor-outdoor flow, and hardwood finishes on the deck and bar areas to contrast the soft pastel tones indoors. Altogether, House 2.0 is a refined, climate-conscious, and contextually rooted urban home that redefines what compact residential living can feel like—functional, serene, and deeply connected to its environment.
