Inspired by the metaphor of a living tree, this redesign envisions the library as a dynamic space that preserves the past, serves the present, and adapts for the future. A sunken level houses archives, a FabLab, and an auditorium, while the upper floors feature study zones, labs, and departmental spaces arranged for optimal light and flow. A secondary volume introduces cafés, galleries, and offices, all anchored by a central light well that unifies the design. Topped with a photovoltaic steel roof supported by slender columns, the library stands as a beacon of sustainability, innovation, and community connection.

Conceptually, the library is envisioned as a living entity, one that preserves history, serves the present, and evolves into the future, much like a tree. This idea is reflected in the spatial organization, materiality, and architectural expression of the building.

A sprawling subterranean level houses archival storage, a fabrication lab, and an auditorium, preserving knowledge while supporting hands-on learning. Above ground, the main building contains study zones, computer labs, and library departments, organized along a longitudinal axis to enhance circulation and daylighting.

A secondary volume introduces social and administrative spaces, including cafés, galleries, and offices, fostering interaction and community engagement. At the core, a dramatic central light well connects both buildings, inviting natural light deep into the interiors and serving as a visual anchor.

Crowning the structure is a lightweight steel roof with angled photovoltaic glass panels, supported by slender columns, symbolizing openness and sustainable progress. Together, these elements transform the library into a dynamic, future-ready space that bridges academia, culture, and innovation.
